SUMMARY:Middle School Nordic Team Practice
DESCRIPTION:Open to students from all area schools\, grades 5-8\, who are ready to commit to a more structured team atmosphere focused on building fitness\, improving skills\, and having fun. Racing is encouraged but not required. The program will run 3 days a week from December through February on Tuesdays\, Thursdays\, & Fridays (excluding February vacation) from 2:30 pm-4:30 pm. Wednesday Night Lights will provide an optional 4th day of practice. Race options include midweek and weekend Maine Junior Ski League races\, Non-Stop Nordic races\, Bill Koch League Fun Races\, and the Bill Koch Festival (3/1-3/2) for those who are interested. \n\n\n\nProgram fee is $150. Equipment provided by the Bethel Outing Club. Trail pass provided by Inland Woods and Trails for youth living in SAD 44\, SAD 17\, and RSU 10 areas. We will hike 2-4 miles depending on how far people want to go – please note the trail descriptions below\, from Maine Trail Finder\, may have longer distances listed – we may not necessarily do the whole distance. \n\n\n\nPlease understand that this is an informal gathering of families to get outside and enjoy some exercise together. All kids must come supervised by an adult. You are participating at your own risk. MWPP is providing the organizational piece of time and location. No cost to participate.
